Allen Browne's Database and Training

To find out how we can help you, select the question you would like to ask:

  1. "What kind of training do you provide?"
  2. "What versions of Access can you work with?"
  3. "I'm stuck. Can you help me solve an Access problem?"
  4. "Will I save money by doing it myself?"
  5. "I'm a developer. Can you subcontract part of a project for me?"

"What kind of training do you provide?"

We have experience consulting to large companies who have staff developing Access databases, through to a guy who is hiring juke boxes out from his garage. Anything from a one-hour visit to ensure you are on the right track with your data structure, to weekly supervision of the direction and problems in your project.

We do not provide Access courses via email.

"I'm stuck. Can you help me solve an Access problem?"

If you want free help, check the free tips on this site, or try posting a question to newsgroup comp.databases.ms-access. The group has around 300 new posts a day, so clear, concise questions usually receive at least one good reply.

If you need commercial assistance, we are glad to help. Email us, and please include the version of Access you are using.

"Will I save money by doing it myself?"

If you have no experience with databases or programming, you will not save money. It takes us longer to explain all the processes to you than to do it for you. It will be worth the effort only if you want to learn about databases and programming.

If you have some idea of relationships (primary and foreign keys) and some experience in Visual Basic, you may save money and you will certainly gain experience. If possible, please talk to us about your project before you begin. You can save much work by ensuring the data structure is right before you create the queries, forms, and reports.

"I'm a developer. Can you subcontract part of a project for me?"

Sure. We are happy to subcontract locally or through email at an hourly rate, in advance, for agreed blocks of hours.
